Metropolitan Edison Company (Met-Ed)

About Metropolitan Edison
Metropolitan Edison, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.*, serves over 540,000 customers in south-central and eastern Pennsylvania.

Pricing Available in 2010
The Metropolitan Edison (Met-Ed) utility territory is transitioning to a competitive electricity market. The current capped energy rates expire on January 1, 2011, at which point new rates will go into effect. The new rates will be based on the results of a series of competitive wholesale procurements set to begin in January 2010 and continue for two years.

As rate caps expire and are replaced with market-based prices, customers may find savings opportunities with Alternative Energy Suppliers like FirstEnergy Solutions.
