Ohio Update

Earlier this year, a new energy law was passed in Ohio. This new law was created in an effort to stabilize electric rates and insulate Ohioans from sharply rising electric generation costs. As part of the new law process, your electric utility (Ohio Edison Company, The Toledo Edison Company or The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company) filed an Electric Security Plan (ESP) that will provide its customers a generation price for the next three years.

If you are a current customer of FirstEnergy Solutions Corp., you may have received a letter from FirstEnergy Solutions notifying you that your contract will expire. We are unable to renew your contract because we are currently unable to offer a generation price lower than what is available through your utility’s proposed rates.  We will notify you if this situation changes.
